A new wave of Summer IP’s was launched recently with the support of the European Union!

The planned project aims to continue the successful enterprise undertaken by the former series of IP projects titled “Religion in the Changing World” organized by the University of Szeged, Department for the Study of Religions and its partners. The new project builds on the outputs and results of the former series, but is significantly broadened and updated in topics and in partnership. The main goal of the present “Religious Transformations in the Contemporary European Societies” project is to provide an inside view for Intensive Programme participants about the dynamics of contemporary European religious transformations-changes and to provide an multidisciplinary outlook in the presentation of relevant fields of research, methods and trends in the field of Study of Religions.

The Intensive Programme will thematically cover the research of contemporary real processes of religion and religiosity, like the connection between religious communities and migration; religious minorities; the situation of Euro-Islam; freedom of religion in Europe; the religious situation in the states of the West Balkans; the discourse of religion and science and the appearance of New Religious Movement groups in the European religious field. The project will use English as the working language.
